Jane Tomlinson York 10km race
York 10K is one of the most beautiful city runs in the UK taking in some of this medieval city’s most stunning scenery including ancient Goodramgate, the majestic York Minster and Clifford’s Tower where Henry VIII executed ‘traitors’.
Congratulations to Jonathan Pagdin who finished with a time of 51.02 so nearly a 3 and half minute improvement on last years time.
The event it’s self is great. It’s well organised, although this year the parking was horrendous compared to last, massive waits in and out of the car park, so I’d recommend taking a picnic and wait until the majority leave at the end.
Running round York is great, you go past many of the historical sites in York and the course is mainly flat and very well marshalled. There is lots of support along the whole route as well. The start and finish is at the racecourse and both years I’ve done the race it’s been windy there, so I’d recommend any friends and family go prepared if they are waiting.
