This week I’d like to introduce you to our Resident chef expert Justin Rowntree owner of Silversmiths restaurant. Over the coming months Justin and his team will be sharing with us some healthy, great tasting and easy to prepare meals that you can cook from the comfort of your own home.
Silversmiths is a multi award-winning family run restaurant in Sheffield. Independently owned and operated.
Our ethos is to select the best Yorkshire produce, support regional farmers and bring our customers a true field to plate experience. 100% of our suppliers are Yorkshire based and 60% are Sheffield based. We think in seasonal terms which means our menus change daily. We seek and plunder the rich diversity of the fields and the oceans and our chefs forecast growth and harvest patterns to bring you the finest and freshest variety of the best food in Yorkshire. All of our meat, poultry & game comes from local farms including Round Green Venison Farm & Cannon Hall Farm in Barnsley, Ewden Farm & Stacey Bank Farm in Bradfield, Whirlow Hall Farm & Pog Lane Farm in Sheffield. All of our meat is hand reared & high welfare.
We are based in an historic cutlery works in the City and we present a true Yorkshire dining experience one that is founded on history and embraces fresh innovative sourcing and presentation of food. Everything that comes out of our kitchen has been prepared, preserved, pickled, roasted, baked, mixed and handmade by our chefs. We know exactly the provenance of all of our food and drink and the stories behind it.
